PHCC Scientific Research Conference on December 2016

 

 

Following the successful launch of the Primary Health Care Corporation’s first Scientific Research Day in 2015, we are pleased to announce that the second PHCC Scientific Research Conference will be held on the 14th and 15th December 2016 in Doha. This is PHCC’s flagship scientific event aimed at showcasing what we do in primary health care and how we contribute to research and family practice in Qatar.

 

Who Should Register and Attend?

The Scientific Research Conference is open to all healthcare professionals including research scientists and health policy makers in Qatar and the GCC as well as Community and Family medicine residents and students.

 

This year’s event is under the theme: “Primary Care Research: Strengthening the Health System, Promoting Family Care & Preventing Chronic Disease” and builds upon the 2015 theme which focused on primary care research as the foundation for high quality health care delivery.

 

This year’s conference activities will occur over two days and provides a forum for learning, sharing, and networking.    On Day 1 Internationally renowned and local Healthcare research scientists will deliver keynote lectures on topics relevant to the theme with a focus on healthcare infrastructure and systems, developing a healthy, motivated, capable workforce and research capacity, and applying appropriately targeted, contextualized and effective interventions for health improvement. 

 

There will also be poster presentations of original research by health care professionals and scientists.    On Day 2, a half-day series of workshops led by well healthcare research experts specifically aimed at empowering new researchers to develop their skills.

 

The Scientific Programme covers topics and activities across four key areas: health systems; family care; capacity building; and chronic disease prevention. We hope that this will provide further exposure to research outputs and opportunities for sharing and learning from best practice.
