The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) Breast and Bowel Screening Program entitled ‘Screen For Life’   participated in the recent high-profile Conference entitled: “ The First Combined Gulf Cancer Conference in Kuwait”, where Dr. Shaikha Abu Shaikha, Cancer Program Manager at PHCC,   introduced the National Program and its key achievements to leading oncologists and healthcare professionals.


Influencers on Hand to Spread the Qatar Primary Health Care Corporation ‘Screen for Life’ Awareness Message


Doha, Qatar – 1 April, 2017:

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has engaged with social media influencers as it continues its drive to increase awareness of the national breast and bowel screening program ‘Screen for Life’. In line with its mandate to get the message to a wide cross-section of Qatar society extolling the benefits of early breast and bowel cancer detection through screening, the ‘Screen for Life’ team gathered most influential figures on Qatari social media, at the Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, one of the PHCC’s three dedicated breast and bowel screening facilities.  During the event, the influencers gained extensive information about the ‘Screen for Life’ program and how it works and were told of the benefits of early cancer detection through screening in helping to save lives.


PHCC Holds the Seventh Annual Forum of Health Promoting Schools National Program

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) recently held the seventh forum of Health promoting schools national program at Leabaib and Um Salal Health Centers. Representatives of 51 primary, intermediate and secondary schools participated in this two-day health-promoting schools event. Identification of obstacles to overcome in delivering the Health Promoting Schools Program, and Knowledge acquisition on best practices to efficiently develop the program, were the main topics of discussion at the forum where 29 schools have also been honored in their commitment to the Health Promoting Schools Programs.


PHCC Marks International Bowel Cancer Awareness Month with Wide-Ranging Awareness Drive

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has marked International Bowel Cancer Awareness Month 2017 by hosting a range of educational sessions covering a wide spectrum of Qatar’s population with the aim of increasing awareness of the benefits of early detection through screening in the fight against bowel cancer across the country. As part of the scheduled outreach activities throughout March, a team from PHCC, the leader of the national Breast and Bowel Screening Program ‘Screen for Life’, collaborated with 'Aspire Zone Foundation' and installed an awareness booth at the Ladies Club where the ‘Screen for Life’ team have introduced the program to all club’s members.


PHCC Launches Bowel Cancer Screening Drive

The Primary Health Care Corporation’s month-long awareness  campaign to coincide with International Bowel Cancer Awareness Month

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) is leading a month-long awareness  drive across Qatar entitled: 'Ask Me About Bowel Cancer Screening”  with aim to highlight the importance of bowel cancer screening in recognition of international Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.  As part of its goal to provide world-class health services to Qatar’s residents and promote a healthy population, the PHCC’s National Breast and Bowel Screening Program ‘Screen For Life’ will throughout March increase efforts to advise the public about the benefits of early detection and encourage eligible men and women to book an appointment for bowel cancer screening.


                    PHCC launches the General Medicine Clinic, at the Headquarter of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (Qatar, 2022


As part of its quest to promote individual and community health, and contribute to strengthen the preparatory efforts for the World Cup 2022, the PHCC has inaugurated the general medicine clinic at the Headquarter of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (Qatar, 2022) in Al Beda’a tower, Al Dafna.


College of the North Atlantic - Qatar (CNA-Q) in Partnership with PHCC Celebrates National Sport Day



 Under the presence of HE the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Hanan Al Kuwari , Dr .Maraim Abdulmalik –Managing Director of Primary Health Care Corporation and Dr. Ken Macleod – CAN-Q President ,the  Staff of the Primary Healthcare Corporations (PHCC) and College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) have come together to celebrate Qatar Sport Day, a demonstration of both organizations’ commitment to drive forward Qatar National Vision 2030, of which a core pillar is building a healthy, prosperous and developed community through investing in health. This also reflects the importance of further strengthening the concepts of physical activities that should become part of the community’s culture in Qatar as a whole.


                    PHCC Provides Postnatal Service Across Nine Health Centers


Mothers who undergo normal delivery, without routine medical intervention can now take advantage of post-natal services provided by PHCC at nine health centers across the country. Dr. Hessa Shahbic, Manager of Maternal and Child Health at PHCC stated, “We are delighted to offer post-natal services in our health centers, accessible to mothers who have newly delivered and are registered within PHCC, with priority presented to local citizens.

PHCC Collaborate with Eid Charity for Awareness Preventative Lectures

Al Wakra Health Centre hold an educational lecture for women on preventative measures and early screening ; Al Wakra Health Center presented a series of awareness lectures for women in collaboration with Eid Charity discussing several topics including early detection of cancer and the necessary measures to take to try to prevent the spread of infections. The lectures also raised the topic of healthy nutritional practices to encourage healthy growth for children and help avoid obesity and diabetes.


Saudi Health Delegation Visits Primary Care’s Umm Slal Health Centre



Engineer Abdul Aziz bin Saleh Al Saloum, Director of Business Environment Development at the Ministry of Health Saudi and several high ranking healthcare officials from Saudi visited primary healthcare’s Umm Salal Health Centre. Dr. Maryam Abdul Malek, Managing Director of Primary Healthcare welcomed the delegation, accompanying them on a tour of the center. The visit follows collaborations between Qatar and Saudi to discuss and share ways to enhance cooperation in the field and facilitate exchange of know-how, manpower and expertise, specifically with regards to health and wellness services in which Qatar is the first country in the region to offer these services in accordance with international health standards.
